Detective Rio and the Turmoil at the Parliament Building

The blazing sun hung over the Indonesian Parliament Complex (DPR/MPR RI), but the real heat came from the streets. Thousands of students and citizens filled the area, their chants echoing through the air:

“Dissolve the Parliament! Dissolve the Parliament!”

Banners stretched across the road, and the crowd’s energy pulsed like a living storm.
In the midst of the chaos stood Detective Rio, quietly observing. He wasn’t there to protest—he had a mission. Rumors had reached the authorities that someone was planning to turn the demonstration into a full-blown riot. Rio’s task: find out who.

His sharp eyes scanned the sea of people, searching for the unusual among the furious. He knew from experience—every riot has a hidden hand behind it.

The Vice President Arrives

Suddenly, sirens wailed. A convoy of black cars approached the gate. The crowd’s roar dimmed for a moment as Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka stepped out.

Calm but firm, he spoke into the microphone:

“I’m here to listen to the people. We can find a solution together—but not through violence.”

Some in the crowd cheered, others kept chanting. The demand remained the same—
the dissolution of the Parliament.

Inside the building, Speaker Puan Maharani was nowhere to be seen. Rumors spread quickly: she refused to come out and face the demonstrators. To the people, her silence spoke louder than words.

“If she truly represents us, why is she hiding?” one student shouted.

A Suspicious Discovery

While the Vice President tried to calm the crowd, Rio noticed a small group of men moving awkwardly behind a banner. They weren’t students—their posture was too controlled, their eyes too alert. One of them carried a large backpack.

Rio slipped into the crowd and followed them.
His instincts were right—they were paid provocateurs, sent to ignite chaos by throwing Molotov cocktails and attacking the police. Once the crowd turned violent, the movement could be discredited and crushed.

The Detective’s Move

Acting swiftly, Rio tackled one of the men as he tried to light a bottle. Within seconds, the police nearby rushed in and detained the group.

But Rio’s job didn’t end there. From one of the suspects’ bags, he found a confidential file—a plan detailing who had funded the operation. The names written inside made Rio pause. They were familiar—political figures, afraid that the people’s demand to dissolve Parliament might actually succeed.

The People’s Mandate

As the truth unfolded behind the scenes, the crowd’s chants grew louder and more united.
Vice President Gibran raised his hand and spoke once more:

“The people are the rightful owners of this nation. Your voices will be heard—but please, don’t let yourselves be used.”

The crowd roared in response, waving flags high.
Still, Speaker Puan never appeared. The people’s anger deepened, their trust fading fast.

Epilogue

As night fell, the Parliament building stood like a fortress of shadows.
Detective Rio watched the lights flicker across the massive complex, holding the secret files close to his chest. He had exposed the provocateurs—but he knew the real culprits were far beyond the streets.

“The truth in politics,” he murmured to himself, “is never simple.”

And through the night, the people’s cry continued to echo across Jakarta:

“Dissolve the Parliament! This is the people’s will!”
